Cidilabs - Design Tools

About Design Tools

Cidilabs Design Tools is one of our MyUni content building technologies. It has a range of features that enable course coordinators, course builders and course developers to provide consistent interface and visual structure to courses in MyUni. Design Tools is based around the concept of content blocks. These blocks have been built and customised for MyUni.

How to launch Design Tools

If you've never launched Cidilabs Design Tools before, you'll need to use the keyboard shortcut to load  the interface, which is ALT + SHIFT + D or Ctrl + 1   on Windows, and OPTION + SHIFT + D or Ctrl + 1 on Mac. This will launch the Design Tools Menu on the right of your screen. Download the Download Quick Start Guide

to see how to make the Design Tools Menu available every time you edit.

Using Design Tools Content Blocks

Over forty pre-configured Content Blocks are available in MyUni Design Tools. Use these when building your course pages. It is important that the icons associated with a content title are kept consistent for students studying across the University. See the available MyUni Design Tools  Blocks & Icons to use when building your course.

It is possible to add and configure your own block then add an icon to represent this title, however it is important to use the preferred MyUni Design Icons for consistency across MyUni.
