About Echo360

Echo360 is the video platform used at the University of Adelaide for recording classes and enhancing the delivery of traditional lectures using active learning tools.

In-theatre Lecture Recording Guides are provided via the lectern card that you will find in every Echo-enabled lecture theatre.

Simply connect your laptop, or use the Lectern PC and select the desired video signal on the Echo360 touch panel. At the completion of the lecture, the Echo360 system processes the recording automatically loads it against the course in Echo360 to access via MyUni.

Only teaching activities identified as ‘lectures’ in the timetable will be scheduled to record in the Echo360 system.

Echo360 Resources

Echo360 Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)

From 2021, all videos uploaded to Echo360 will automatically have transcripts generated using Echo360 Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR).

Transcripts are automatically generated using "speech-to-text" technology and can also be used for creating closed captions.

Only videos newly recorded or uploaded using Echo360 will have an automatically generated transcript. Videos created prior to 2021 will not have transcripts automatically generated, but can have transcripts applied by re-publishing the video to a course.

Sharing a Link to a Recording

You can generate a shareable link or embed code for content in Echo360. Note that you may need to refresh the page to generate the button.

You can also embed Echo360 content within MyUni using the Rich Content Editor.
